February's Second Friday

*Giveaway and Freebie at the end of this post.

This is my baby sister:)  A couple weeks ago, I went out to visit her when she looked like this...
for the record: baby was a surprise and we took pictures with both the boy pin and girl
Last weekend, she and her husband welcomed a baby boy!
The Buth Family
And we are OVER THE MOON excited to celebrate this little guy!  Jackson, you are a precious gift from God.  I'm just wondering why you couldn't come a couple days early, so I could have been there to snuggle you?!?!  I'll admit I'm a wee bit jealous that my husband is going to get to see him first:(  But then again, my husband maybe deserves some boy time with 5 girls at home:)

So FEBRUARY has even more reason to celebrate now.   Welcome to the world Jackson!
Zippered Pouch, Diaper Keeper, Changing Mat
Since Baby was a surprise, I had my sister pick out a boy fabric and a girl fabric, and told her I would sew any baby stuff she wanted once baby arrived.  I couldn't really get a jump start on sewing....I had to wait!

So this week I've been busy sewing Dinosaurs!  With 5 girls, it was fun to drown myself in boy stuff:)
Diaper Keeper, Zippered Pouch, Changing Mat
She needed all the tools of a new mom to keep her life organized now that Jack is here!  I don't know about changing BOY diapers, but I do know that you need the diapers and wipes handy and a mat.
Zippered Pouch
She wanted a zippered pouch to keep all her baby essentials.  Making it plastic lined will make it easy to wipe out if something spills.  Plenty of room in there if Mom wants to stash some stuff too!
Zippered Pouch
And if Jack messes up his clothes....
Small Wet Bag
Don't worry, cause Mom has extra dry clothes in the wet bag!  And then contain the mess by slipping the dirty/wet stuff into the wet bag.
Snuggle Blanket
And when Jack gets fussy and tired, she'll just need to pull out his snuggle blanket to help sooth him.
Snuggle Blanket
This luggage tag on her diaper bag is a great place to stash his Doctor's Business Card as well as lost and found information.
Luggage Tag
When he gets bigger, he can tag his backpack for school or his suitcase for trips to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

These early days are just about feeding and sleeping.  But he is going to have the cutest drool and spit with this dino set.  Are late night feedings any easier or better if you have cute accesories?  I think so:)
Bibs and Burp Cloth
A couple new things that have been developed just for my new nephew...
Paci Keeper
There is nothing worse than a newborn that keeps dropping his pacifier and when it rolls under something and you can't reach it and you are JUST SO TIRED!  I get it.  My girl, throws her paci in the car and then gets mad if you can't reach it:)  No way I was gonna take several 18 hour drives without a paci keeper this past Christmas!

Clip on one end  attachs to the bib or his outfit and elastic on the other end keeps the paci from falling.  I tried to make it versitle since I didn't know what his paci preference would be.
Paci Pocket
And my sister can stash a couple extras in her paci pocket attached to the outside of the diaper bag.  An extra paci is always close at hand.

No doubt that they are going to be GREAT parents.

EVERYONE deserves to be equiped for greatness!
Set includes Diaper Keeper, Burp Cloth and Bib

  5. This is my 2nd attempt to try and post a comment. First, congrats to the new parents! He is so precious and loved by many! Welcome Jackson! Secondly, if I could "love" your Facebook page I would but I do already like it. Now as for advice.... I'll be a new parent as well in just a few weeks, so I'll pass along information that was given to me with regards to breaking bad habits. Don't focus on the habit but look deeper into perhaps why they have this new bad habit. Self soothing or boredom? Replace the habit with an incentive and keep in perspective that many times the habit will, without intervention, stop on its own.

  6. "Liked" you since I found out you made the luggage tags and crayon holders (which travels to church every Suday with us) for your sisters wedding! My parenting tip/advice for the new parents would be make sure you have time for yourself and your spouse! (note to Becky: any day you want, we will babysit while you make a trip to the wineries with Adam!) Must need baby item: Extra clothes for the car/diaper bag for those uh-oh moments!! Cant wait to meet baby Jack and looking forward to purchasing some items from the shop for my baby #4 on the way!!

  8. Already "Liked" your FB page. My tip - If you have offers of help - take the person up on it! It is very hard for a first time mom to "give up" the baby, but to have some time out of the house with hubby can be good for both mom and baby. Also, If mom isn't happy, then baby isn't happy. Rest when baby is resting. Don't worry about cleaning as much, if any one comes over to visit, they will understand (if they don't, then they obviously don't have kids!) that the house isn't as clean as you normally would keep it. God's Blessings on your new little one!

  9. Rachel- you know I like you on facebook and all the time. I have given numerous baby sets and note pads as gifts. The diaper keepers seem to be a real hit and would have been nice 30 years ago, but I was using cloth diapers for you and your sister Becky. My advice to both of you is to spend as much time as you can with your little one as they go off to school and other states and don't have as much time to spend with you.
