Customized Capes

I absolutely LOVE when my customers make requests!  Y'ALL have such great ideas!  Keep 'em coming!  I had two specialty capes ordered last week that I wanted to share.

First up:  THOR-in real life he just has a red cape and carries a hammer, so I combine the two.
Second: MINNIE MOUSE- her light pink bow matches our light pink mask perfectly.
And since we don't have enough DISNEY stuff in the house and for our trips.....now my kids each want their own capes too:)

Thank you ladies, for thinking outside the box and customizing your kids capes!

Wet Bags

I've been busy!  A lot goes into creating a new product for the shop.  I often contemplate it for months.  And then make several samples before I get it just right for you!
small wet bag
Someone asked if I made wet bags last fall.  You know the kind that people use for cloth diaper....of which I don't use!

So I had to do a little research.....and finding someone to actually talk to about them.
medium wet bag
And since I wouldn't be using them for cloth diapers, I had to think of other uses for them, because, it is really hard to love and sew something that you don't/won't find use for in your personal life.
large wet bag
So 6 months later....here they are:  Wet Bags in THREE sizes!  Let me introduce them to you:)
The SMALL wet bag:
* 8" x 10.5" (fold and stick into your purse or diaper bag)
* hold 1-2 cloth diapers that have been "used"
* holds change of clothes for those Potty Training days.....months........years! (keep dry clothes inside until needed and then swap them out for the "wet" ones)
* holds 1-2 wet swimsuits for after you have spent your day at the pool or beach and change out of them to go home or how about after swim lessons.

embroidery extra
Snap handle (on the small and medium) makes it so easy to hang on a door knob (in a bathroom) or on your chair at the beach.  Open it up and then hang in on the handle to your stroller as you walk back to your car or to keep separate from your diaper bag stuff when you have wet stuff in it.
 The MEDIUM wet bag:
* 13" x 14.5" (fold into quarters and stick into your purse or diaper bag)
* hold 8-9 cloth diapers that have been "used" (great for being gone all day)
* holds SEVERAL changes of wet clothes for those Potty Training days.....months........years!
* holds 4-5 wet swimsuits for after you have spent your day at the pool or beach
* holds ONE wet towel and ONE wet swimsuit (perfect for swim lessons or swim dates!)

And because our family is larger that most.....SEVEN.....the medium bag just wasn't big enough for use to all squeeze our wet swim suits in at the gym, so the large was born!
 The LARGE wet bag:
* FAMILY SIZE or 14" x 19" (perfect to toss into our swim bag or into the trunk for "just in case" wet clothes
* Has two handles (instead of snap wristlet)
* hold 20-24 cloth diapers that have been "used" (great for at home)

* holds the whole family's wet swimsuits for after you have spent your day at the pool or beach and change out of them to go home or how about after swim lessons.
* holds TWO wet beach towels, plus swim suits

dry pocket
On this one, I added a dry pocket to the front of the bag.  I like to be able to carry a couple extra dry swim diapers or toss  my keys and phone into it.  I realize that not everyone will use it that way (especially if you are using it at home to hold your cloth diapers) and so the DRY POCKET is an add on item.  There is an upcharge to have it added to the medium or large wet bags.

So now that the pools are opening up here in Texas, we are getting lots of use out of our WET BAG!

Order yours today, so you are ready for the upcoming swim season, or if you are using cloth diapers, or if you are like me and heading into those days, weeks, months of POTTY TRAINING.  (4th time around--I hope it's easier this time--at least it will be cuter!)

Autism Awareness Month

We {heart} several people with Autism....and what better way to celebrate their AWESOMENESS (and awareness) than to design them a super cape!

Though April is Autism Awareness month, the capes are available for order through my etsy site, through May 31st.
Autism capes are similar to Super Man, but the background is the "autism puzzle" fabric and instead of the "S" you get to pick the letter for the child!

This cape is for LIAM!  We love you!
{long cape on 9 year old}
Capes can be made long as pictured, or in our standard length for shorter munchkins.

Capes are reversible and can have any of our other super heros put onto the other side.

A "MANLY" Lunch

This is a custom order from a friend.  Here is how the conversation started....
So....my husband has been using the girls HELLO KITTY lunch bags to take his lunch to work....can you do something about that:)
YES!!!!

He was very specific.  He wanted PLAIN.  Meaning just black.  Nothing else.  And while I had to make what he wanted, just plain, black is sort of boring.  It is possible to make something with style and character with out it being plain and black and boring.  I must mention, she did give me some creative license with this order!
So I made it out of black corduroy!  I LOVE the way it turned out and my own husband admitted that if he had to take lunch to work everyday....he would use this!  It is black and simple, yes.  But anything but boring! I love that the fabric adds some texture.  I think he just didn't want it to stick out much!  But let's be honest.  Before he was using HELLO KITTY:)  So ANYTHING would have been improvement!
For the inside, I used some laminate fabric so that he his wife, could easily wipe it out.  I love that little secret pop of polka dots too!
Two velcro tabs keep it closed nicely when needed.

She also admitted that he sometimes uses the girls lunch kits, since he lost his...So.........
He got a lunch bag and sandwich wrap made out of black corduroy as well.  The inside of the wrap is plain, black cotton.  Heaven forbid there was any color visible while he was eating his lunch:)

I'm so glad that he is doing his part for the earth.  I realize that their aren't too many manly choices out there to help men do this.  I'm glad to do my part to help him.

In the end, I really love how the corduroy worked for the lunch kits.  Look for the more MANLY lunch kits to show up in the shop soon!

More than just for luggage....

Luggage Tags.

Seems obvious, right?  You put a TAG on your LUGGAGE!
But really, you can do so much more with them!  How about TAG your sports bag!  Not only do I put my daughter's name and contact information on it, but I also put my daughter's allergy information and my phone number on the tag so that if she is at a soccer game without me, the other parents have her allergy information and a quick way to get a hold of me.  They don't have to think in an emergency!
We TAG our swim bags for lessons.  All the bags are the same (to prevent fighting:).  So tagging them is a quick way for me (or Dad) to know which bag to grab on which day!
Why not TAG your library bag!  In this custom order,  I made two library bags.  One for each kid.
Then I customized the fish and owl tags so that the kids could put their library cards inside the tag!  No need to worry about getting to the library and then not having your card!  You could also stick the receipt in there so you know which books each child checked out.  My classic tags are already large enough to hold your library card:)
TAG your diaper bag!  (owl again customized)  My daughter sees a lot of doctors.  With a tag on my bag, I can just slip the doctors card into my tag!  Then all in one place I have all of her doctors at hand, with all their information. Makes leaving her at a sitters easy since all her doctor information is easily at hand as well.
I TAG the baskets in the game closet, so that at a quick glance, we know what is inside each one AND the kids should know where to put things when they are cleaning up!
I also TAG the baskets in the linen closet.  Makes it easy when changing the sheets, especially for the kids and hubby.  They know where the crib, twin, full, queen, and king sheets are as well as the pillow cases.
We have lockers in the garage.  (this is a progress photo....I would have had to seriously clean to take a picture now:)  I TAG each child's cubby by putting a tag on the shoe bin that sits below.  The little ones are learning the big kids names and it makes putting away very easy.
And this cute couple....they used TAGS at their wedding for place cards!  The groom and bride's were embroidered with Mr. and Mrs.
Each guest also got a TAG at that had their name and table number on.  At the end, they got to take it home as their gift!!!  The kids at the wedding got crayon rolls!  Such a fun order that was to fill!
(One of each color from another set of tags I did as place cards for a wedding)
Make it a travel set, and match a zippered pouch with a TAG!  (custom fabric and design for a MAN bag chosen by customer :)  Perfect gift for the one who travels a  lot.

We tag back packs and lunch boxes and strollers (when we travel).

I put gift cards in a TAG and then hand them out to teachers at Christmas.

I TAG Christmas gifts, and Birthday gifts and end of the year gifts.  Just wrap as usual, slide their name into the tag and attach to gift!

You can TAG just about anything!  Keep an open mind...and order your tags today!

*bulk orders, 10 or  more of the same item, receive a 10% discount!  Convo me today with custom orders as well!

First Aid Bag

The first aid kit I had in the shop, looked like this:
It served it's purpose to keep my first aid supplies at hand and hooked onto my stroller.  But sometimes the contents would spill when I tossed it in the diaper bag or into the trunk when the stroller was folded up and put in there.

SO......I redesigned it this winter and I am much happier with how it is working.
First of all, I put a zipper on the top!  It is very similar to my zippered bags.   The zipper ensures that the contents stay put if I toss it in my purse or diaper bag or under the stroller. I liked having the "clutch" handle on the side too.  If I have the umbrella stroller, it slips nicely over the handle.  If i have the double stroller, I can still simply hook it on with a linky still.
The back is still clear plastic.  In an emergency, I like to have clear view, so I can grab that band aid quickly!  A small gusset on the bottom ensures that everything has plenty of space inside the bag!
Perfect addition to your life now for the runny noses (Kleenex) and chapped lips (chap stick).  And with summer just around the corner, you can keep up with the clean hands (sanitizer), bug bites (itch stick) and scraped knees (band aids)!  Get it HERE.

More new products....

I am in LOVE with this new product!!!!  (the fabric as well as it's use:)  Can you guess what it is?
Here's a peek....
Yup....it's an ipad case!
I love the grey with white flowers on the outside and the soft cushion of Minky on the inside!
Know what this smaller version is for?
iphones!
I have a small hard case over my phone, and then I just slip it inside!
Same soft Minky on the inside.
The perfect pair for your new Christmas gifts!
***If you have a kindle/nook or other device, I will be able to customize the case for your particular device.  Same thing for any of the smart phones out there.  I will have a specific tutorial on how to measure your item so that I can make the case fit your items!***
